We are getting close to the best time of year ya’ll and there is no better way to ring in the Christmas Season than by creating a beautiful wreath. This traditional red buffalo check with red berry Christmas wreath is gorgeous and will look amazing on anyone’s front door! You won’t even miss this no-bow design with all its depth and dimension.
The traditional red and buffalo check pattern and pine greenery are perfect for the Season. Just the right amount of deep red berries and whimsy touches take this wreath to the next level and make it a definite showstopper!
Red Buffalo Check with Berries Wreath
We are going with some tried and true design picks today with our Buffalo check with berries Christmas wreath. The green eucalyptus mixed in with the gorgeous angel pine greenery is a perfect foundation for a great Christmas design.
I love adding touches of red to bring that traditional feel using berries throughout. Pinecones also add the right feel to Christmas! You can leave your wreath more traditional, and still beautiful, or you can add some fun touches to create a more whimsical feel.

I love the buffalo plaid curly spray that you can shape and bend to add more life to the design. These easy-to-add fun curls bring a smile to your face and more interest to your eye. Another fun addition is the red jingle bells! Every time someone is welcomed into your home, the jingle bells will help to ring in the Christmas Season!
It’s a fun addition that adds texture and color while stimulating another one of our senses. You can add a bow into the bow zone if you’d like or keep it out if your weather may lend itself better to a no-bow design. Either way, it’s going to be amazing, let’s start creating this gorgeous wreath!
Ingredients
Directions
- Start by breaking down the eucalyptus and berry stem into separate pieces. Dip the end in hot glue and start by adding into the grapevine wreath base on the top slightly to the left. Add another eucalyptus and berry stem on the bottom. Add a third stem down to the left in between, using hot glue to secure it.
- Take some angel pine greenery stems and use hot glue to add on the inner part of your wreath on the top left. Cover any exposed hot glue with Spanish moss. Keep building your base by adding more angel pine stems along the left side of your wreath base in between the eucalyptus greenery. Add in some more angel pine toward the top of your base and continue along the left side.
- Take your red berry eucalyptus spray and tear it into smaller stems. “Shake hands” with each piece to bring movement and life to the greenery. Dip the ends in hot glue and add red berry and eucalyptus stems into the bottom.
- Add another red berry stem spaced to the left within your greenery base. Continue adding red berry stems on the inner circle on the left side and on the top of your base. Grab a red berry and eucalyptus stem with a pinecone and add where the transition point is, covering any hot glue with Spanish moss. Add one more red berry stem towards the top.
- Let’s grab a second greenery stem with red berries and add some stems into the transition point on your wreath base. Continue adding the Pine with red berries stem on the bottom. Fill in any open spots with traditional Pine greenery also.
- Do the same to the top of your wreath by adding Pine with red berries stems along the top of your grapevine base using hot glue to secure. Keep adding more traditional Pine stems to fill in any holes and beef up your design.
- You can stop here with a beautiful green and red berry design or add some more whimsy to attract a different customer base. Grab your red and black buffalo check curls spray and cut them into separate picks. Shape the curls to create more movement.
- Add the curl picks to the bottom, top, and left side of your wreath before gluing to see if you like the position. Take a red jingle bell pick and divide into three sections using your wire cutters.
- Insert the jingle bells at the transition point towards the bottom and the top. Secure each of your picks into the grapevine using hot glue on the stems. Add one more jingle bell stem to the top of your base. Make any final adjustments you need and enjoy your beautiful design!
Tips and Tricks for Wreath Making
It’s so important to remember some key tricks and tips when you are designing wreaths and pieces, whether they be for yourself or for a customer base. I like to have a transition point where the direction of your design changes on your wreath.
This helps to have a point of reference when you are adding greenery and other elements to keep the flow of the design pleasant for your eye to follow. I like to also build the base foundation of my design by creating triangles with the greenery, then adding other stems and picks relative to their placement. Using these tips is sure to help you become a great designer, no matter what your goals are!
