October 10, 2023 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Halloween, Swag

Are you ready to add a touch of spooky charm to your Halloween decor without breaking a sweat? Well, look no further because we’ve got just the thing – a Simple Halloween Swag that’s as easy as it is enchanting. With candy corn picks and a glittery black base, you’ll have a bewitching decoration ready to hang in no time.

Simple Halloween Swag

Halloween is all about embracing the spirit of fun and frights, and this swag captures that essence perfectly. It’s a DIY project that even the busiest witches and wizards can tackle. So, whether you’re a crafting newbie or a seasoned DIY pro, you’re in for a treat. Plus, the end result is a stylish and festive piece that will make your home the spookiest on the block.

With just a few materials and a pinch of creativity, you can transform your space into a Halloween haven. Hang this swag on your front door to welcome trick-or-treaters or use it to spruce up your haunted house. It’s a versatile decoration that screams Halloween spirit and sets the stage for a night of ghoulish delights. So, grab your broomstick (or crafting supplies) and let’s conjure up some Halloween magic together!

Directions

  • Begin with your base and one of your Candy Corn Sprays. Fluff your spray out, and place it on your base about ¾ of the way down facing down. Intermingle the pieces of the spray with the branches of your base to blend the spray into the base.
  • Fluff your second spray and place it so that it is sticking up out of the base.
  • Cut both your spray wires so that they overlap, so that there is not a ton of extra wire. Attach them to the base with a black cable tie.
  • Attach your bow in between the picks with a cable tie.
  • Add a Skeleton Hand Pick coming out of the top of the bow and out from underneath the bow, and attach each with a cable tie.

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Change out the colors or elements to make the swag your own. The best part of this swag is that it’s so easily customizable!
  • If you’re unhappy with a swag, you could use any of these elements on a wreath for a similar but different, look.
  • Add more picks to the swag if you’d like a more intricate look.

What are Not Scary Halloween Decor Ideas?

Not all Halloween decorations have to be spooky. For those who prefer the fun and whimsical over the eerie and creepy, think friendly ghosts, grinning pumpkins, and cheerful skeletons decked out in costumes. These decorations add a touch of Halloween spirit to your home without the fright factor, making them perfect for families with young children or anyone who prefers a lighthearted approach to the year’s spookiest season.

What’s the Best Way to Hang a Halloween Swag on a Door?

I love to hang a Halloween swag on a door using an adjustable wreath hanger designed for doors. These hangers can be easily placed over the top of your door, and most are adjustable to accommodate different door sizes. Simply open the hanger, fit it over your door, and then close it securely. Ensure the hook or loop at the bottom of the hanger is positioned at your desired height for the wreath.
