DIY Berry and Eucalyptus Wreath

April 8, 2022 | Wreath Tutorials, Year-Round Designs

Learn to make your own DIY berry and eucalyptus wreath at home! Just like the big ones you see at Christmas time, I am going to show you how to make a white berry wreath that can be used all year round. All you need is six supplies, hot glue, Spanish moss, and wire cutters.

This project is done in fifteen minutes and anyone can do it. Once you learn how you can use whatever greenery or berries you’d like to create your own take on a traditional berry wreath.

DIY Eucalyptus Wreath with Berries

I love a quick and easy project that anyone can do! Who doesn’t love a simple berry wreath? I always associate berry wreaths with Christmas time, but today we are going to make a simple Spring berry wreath that will work all year long.

Directions

  • Start with a 14” grapevine wreath base. Prep your cream berry stems by tearing the individual stems off. Remove any paper and trim extra stems off. Prep your mini boxwood greenery stems by clipping them as long as possible.
  • Create a perimeter by adding hot gluing four longer stems of greenery in the center of your base. Space them a few inches apart. Add the shorter boxwood stems in-between your perimeter stems. Cover any hot glue with Spanish Moss.
  • Take the longest stems of boxwood greenery and cut them in half to make shorter pieces. Add these behind each of the original greenery stems along the perimeter.
  • Let’s add some berries! Couple two berries together and swirl the end in hot glue. Stay in the middle and add four berry pairs along your perimeter.
  • Keep adding berry pairs using longer stems in between the previous ones, working more towards the outside of the base. Continue layer berries in between berries around the perimeter and center.
  • Fill in any empty holes throughout the base with the remaining boxwood stems.

Start with whatever type of greenery you chose and start by creating a perimeter around the outside of your wreath. It’s important to stay in the same direction with a simple design like this. I’m using a small leaf boxwood which is so popular right now and goes well in almost any project.

This technique starts off by spacing out the berries and greenery throughout your grapevine wreath base. Then you continue to layer in between and start to fill in any gaps you may have. It is such a simple and classic design concept that you can use on so many different projects and with various greenery, berries, or florals. Layering the white berries in the right spot makes the wreath so full and adds tons of depth. It’s also a green wreath to stock up on in your online shops or booths. Let’s get started!

A great tip I like to use in my designs is to pair and cluster flowers and berries together when you add them to your wreaths and really any projects. Not only does this make them look organic and realistic, but it also gives you more coverage and fullness. Let’s be honest no one wants a flat and sad-looking wreath!

  • Cut and prep the White Black Chenille Curly Stems add some dimension to them by curling with your fingers to really give them life.
  • Stem back and look at your your centerpiece. Are thier bald or blank spaces? Fluff you black garland to fill and use the wires in your products from Keleas.com to really get the pieces where you want them.
  • Grab one of your Glitter Curly Velvet Ball Picks and trim the stem down to a couple of inches. Fluff out your pick, and then place it to the left of your bow, tucking it behind the bow to have it peek out from behind it.
