If you are looking to create something beautiful, relax while doing it, and feel accomplished with your final project, then perfect. Let me teach you step by step how to get this look.

Directions

  • Grab your 1.5” gingham ribbon and measure it out to be longer than your swag, about 26” long. Be sure to cut that at an angle first end.
Bring to the center of your EZ Bow Maker and make your first loop to measure about 6.5” inches. Pinch, twist, and insert back into the center peg. Repeat making your next loop on the other side. Repeat to make 3 loops on each side to have a nice full first layer of your bow.
  • Pull a tail down matching the length of your first, and cut from the bolt. Create an opposite angled cut from the first tail. Grab your next layer of ribbon, with the intent to create everything shorter. Your tails should measure about 20” and your loops should be 5” or 5.5” in length. This creates a dramatic decrease in size for your Blastoff Bow.
  • Repeat the steps to make your loops, but this 2nd layer has 2 loops on each side, 4 more loops added in all. To complete the bow layers, create a bowtie in the center to finish up the Blastoff Bow style. Create a little loop. Crisscross those ribbons over, scrunch it up, and bring it right down the middle of your EZ Bow Maker.
  • Grab your cable tie and lightly secure as you remove from the bow maker. Keep secure in your hand. Rotate the mechanics of cable tie to the back as you begin to fluff and fancy your bow. Insert a 2nd cable tie to help with easy attachment to your swag. Pull 1st cable tie tight, and cut excess. Use a tiny section of the ribbon, cut off and fold it over to cover up your cable tie in the center. You can make this fat or skinny but just hide that cable tie. Place in the center and tie tight on the back. Try and get a couple of knots.
  • Grab your pick and “Shake Hands” with it to be nice and full. Same with your swag before moving forward. Grab your Berry Teardrop swag and be sure to alternate the pink and green leaves with your fern-type twig on the pic. As you insert the Berry pick into the swag, you want to be sure they are opposite each other.
  • Insert a cable tie to secure your Berry Pick to the swag. Pull tight and remove excess. Leave room for your bow zone. Insert your bow with the long tails running down the angel vine base swag. Use the cable tie to run it through to secure it in place. Trim excess.  Play with loops on the bow to be in pretty placement.
  • Place long tails in the back so they run along the outer edge creating a nice figure.
Place your shorter tails in the front, with a curl.
Next grab your SURPRISE SUPPLY, which is your Yellow and Red Butterfly stem. Trim into smaller sections to allow for adding more depth and dimension throughout your swag.
  • Insert your twig pieces up top into your swag by hot gluing ends as you insert. Work them throughout paying attention to movement. You can manipulate the twigs to allow for them to stick out or more in. It is up to you.

Why Create a Bowtie in the Center of Your Handmade Blastoff Bow?

I make ALL kinds of bows, and this one is definitely a favorite. I love having the bowtie look in the center because it really creates a dramatic effect on my large, full bow. The fact that is missing the tails hanging from the center is just something I think helps it stand apart from all of the other types of bows I make. What do you think? Are you a fan of tails or no tails for the center of a large bow?

How To Ship A Floral Arrangement

Oh, you know this pretty little swag is going to be a top seller for sure. So, boxing it up safely and securely is a must. I will be sure to box it up from behind so that I can tie it in place, to support the nice angel vine base. No movement is wanted while in the box for shipment. Packaging is so important to make your customer receives the beautiful product they fell in love with from the beginning. Plus, it will allow you to serve returning customers, because they trust your talent, not just in creating, but packing and shipping as well.
