- Start by prepping your Scarecrow Twig Form. I put a piece of floral foam on the brim of the scarecrow’s hat, which we will use later. I just glue it on with hot glue, then add some floral pins through the back. .
- Break down your Orange Feather Reed Grass Spray into two pieces each. Cut all your stems down to about 2” each.
- Place one of your spray pieces into the floral foam, facing down to the left. Go opposite that one and place another going up to the right. Add a second piece in front of each of those pieces to create some added dimension.
- Continue adding pieces to the floral foam, beginning to cover the foam.
- Cut your pumpkins off your main stem, and add them to your floral foam, one below the foam, one near the foam, and one above the foam.
- Attach a floral pin to your bow, and then add it to your foam in the center of the design.
- Break down your Large Tea Leaf Bush into smaller pieces and start working them through the design, filling in where you need it. Be sure your greenery completely covers your floral foam.
- Your cute Scarecrow Door Hanger is complete!
TIPS AND TRICKS
- I use a regular kitchen skillet to melt my glue sticks. This allows me to dip my stems into the glue and place them in my wreath easily. I definitely recommend this if you are making a lot of flora projects.
- I added glue to each stem as I placed it in the floral foam, but you could absolutely do a “dry run” beforehand. Just be sure you don’t move them TOO much or it’ll make your floral foam fall apart.
