Directions

  • Start with your Southern Magnolia Drop and spend a little time spreading out the leaves and flowers, giving it a little more life and making it too even more gorgeous than it already does.
  • I am going to use my Large Magnolia Flower Spray above my bow, so I started by setting my flower on my table, then, using 4 fingers to decide how far down I wanted the swag to start, laying the swag on top of the spray. This 4 finger space is our “bow zone”.
  • Using cable ties, attach your spray to your swag. I just ran the stem of the spray down the length of the swag, and attached it with a couple cable ties.
  • Now attach your bow. I made this bow in a previous video, but you can use any style of classic bow. Attach it to your swag using another cable tie, in the bow zone. I like using a bow with longer tails.
  • I like to weave my bow tails into my swag, giving it some nice movement and adding extra dimension to the piece.
  • Enjoy your beautiful swag!

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Change your ribbons to make bows that match whatever type of decor you are creating. Let the versatility of this simple project shine!
  • Consider incorporating other greenery or filler flowers to add depth and texture to your swag.
  • Add embellishments like ribbon bows, pinecones, or berries for extra visual interest and seasonal flair.
  • Hang your Southern Magnolia Swag in a prominent location where it can be admired, such as on a front door, mantel, or staircase railing.

Are there different ways to hang a Southern Magnolia Swag Decor?

Yes, there are various ways to hang a Southern Magnolia Swag depending on your preferences and the location where you plan to display it. You can use a sturdy hook or nail to hang it directly on a door, wall, or mantel. You can also attach a length of ribbon or twine to the swag and hang it from a wreath hanger or over a door knocker for a more decorative touch. Another option is to incorporate a wire loop or hook into the design of the swag itself, allowing you to easily hang it from a door or wall hook. Whichever method you choose, ensure that the swag is securely supported to prevent it from falling or shifting.

How can I adapt the Southern Magnolia Swag for different seasons or occasions?

Adapting the Southern Magnolia Swag for different seasons or occasions is simple and versatile. For spring and summer, consider adding colorful blooms or greenery such as daisies, hydrangeas, or ferns to complement the magnolias. In autumn, incorporate elements like berries, mini pumpkins, or fall foliage for a seasonal touch. For winter, add pinecones, berries, and evergreen branches for a festive look. You can also customize the swag with themed embellishments such as ribbons, bows, or ornaments to suit specific holidays or events. With a few creative adjustments, your Southern Magnolia Swag can seamlessly transition to any season or occasion throughout the year.
