Ingredients
Directions
- Begin with your Large Moss Half Basket. Put a small block of floral foam into the basket piece of the base and pin it in place with u-shaped floral pins and hot glue on the back of the wreath.
- Stuff Spanish moss into the wreath base from the back so that you can’t see the foam or pins from the back.
- Grab your Willow Eucalyptus stem and “shake hands with it”. Spread out all the leaves and fluff it out to make it bigger and fuller. Decide how tall you want your project to be, then cut your stem to be the appropriate length. Dip your stem in glue and put it in your foam. This will create a beautiful background for your piece.
- Prepare your 2 Willow Branch Bushes by spreading out all stems and making it look fluffed out. These will flank the center stem, so see how they will sit and cut accordingly. Dip your Willow Eucalyptus stems in glue and poke them into the foam beside the center stem on either side
- Grab your Frosted Eucalyptus Hanging Bush, and begin to break it into pieces. The stem will easily break into a couple pieces. Some will look like they will easily fall over the side of the bucket and others will stand up more.
- Take the longest piece from the hanging bush and hold it up next to your piece. I decided mine was too long, so I dipped it into my glue, put the end in the foam, and then trimmed the branch to be just longer than the bottom of my hanging basket.
- Add your other Frosted Eucalyptus Hanging pieces and start arranging them in your basket. The goal is to make it look like your eucalyptus is spilling out of the basket.
- Break down your Cream Green Mini Fishtail Fern Bush into pieces, and add them to the back of your project. I added mine in between the tall pieces of Eucalyptus and filled in any bare spots in my project.
- Fluff and rearrange any of your stems to your liking, and your piece is ready to go!
TIPS AND TRICKS
- Every few pieces you add, take a step back and look at your work. You’ll be able to see spots where things aren’t meshing very well, or where there are gaps in the florals.
- There were a few places on my project where I used both glue and a floral pin. This will help keep your stems from falling out.
How do I secure the greenery in my project to be sure it stays in place?
Securing the greenery in your Natural Greenery Wall Basket is a breeze, ensuring it stays put and looks fabulous. Once you’ve arranged the greenery in your moss-covered half-basket, you can use hot glue to secure the stems in place. Apply a small amount of hot glue to the bottom of each stem and press it onto the moss. This helps anchor the greenery and prevents any unwanted shifting. Additionally, floral pins can be handy for securing larger or heavier pieces. Simply insert the pins into the moss, ensuring they go through the stems, providing extra stability. This winning combo of hot glue and floral pins ensures that your greenery stays in place, creating a beautifully arranged wall basket that stands the test of time.
Can I hang this Natural Greenery Wall Basket outdoors?
Absolutely! Hanging your Natural Greenery Wall Basket outdoors can add a touch of natural beauty to your exterior spaces. However, to ensure its longevity and resilience against the elements, consider a few precautions. First, opt for outdoor-friendly greenery that can withstand weather conditions. Additionally, use floral pins and hot glue when securing the greenery to the moss-covered half-basket to help combat wind and weather, keeping your outdoor wall basket intact and beautiful. While your creation can brave the outdoors, it’s a good idea to place it in a sheltered area or bring it indoors during extreme weather to maintain its charm for seasons to come.
