No Bow Wreath Tutorial

June 15, 2023 | Wreath Tutorials, Year-Round Designs

If you are looking for a wreath that will look amazing all year, a simple but high impact No Bow Wreath is perfect for you! It’s a great decoration with just greenery and flowers, regardless of season. The best part is that they are so simple to pull together.

How To Make A Wreath With No Bow

I love a wreath that I can use for multiple holidays or seasons. It seems that it’s so common to make a wreath for every holiday, and I love doing that! But sometimes, it’s nice to have a multi-purpose wreath that I can use whenever I need it. This No Bow Wreath is perfect for that.

One of the best things about this wreath is that it comes together so quickly! You can easily get this wreath done in less than an hour. It’s a wreath that is so cute but so easy, a win-win! It’s also an incredibly beginner friendly wreath, so if you’re unsure you can make your own wreath, this is a great place to start.

It’s so versatile because this wreath is only a grapevine wreath with two greenery types. You can use ivy or flowers that you love, customizing them for your home. If you love eucalyptus, use that! Use Babies Breath if that’s your thing. Make it yours!

Directions

  • Start with your 14” grapevine wreath and your bunches of Grape Ivy. Prepare your ivy by trimming each branch to 1” stems. Shape each ivy stem by moving the leaves so the front of each leaf faces forward.
  • Start placing your ivy stems into your wreath by dipping them in glue, poking them into your wreath, and covering the glue at the base of your stem with Spanish moss. Work clockwise around the wreath following a zig zag pattern, one stem on the outside of the wreath, one on the inside, and so on.
  • Break down your Cream Wild Flower Bushes into smaller bunches, and trim your stems down 1”.
  • Work clockwise around the outside of your wreath, adding your bushes between the ivy stems. Dip them into your glue before pushing them into the wreath, and add Spanish moss to cover your glue. Moving clockwise around your wreath again, place 1 or 2 bushes behind each stem of ivy. This will help the ivy sit up off the wreath and create dimension.
  • If spaces between your ivy seem sparse, add another wild flower bush. If there is a space that needs more ivy, add it. Remember, this is handmade, not machine-made.

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • If you’re worried about how your wreath will look, do a “dry run”! Stick your stems into your wreath without any glue, so you can move them around until you are happy with it.
  • Make this wreath your own! Change out ivy for another greenery that you love, or the wild flower bushes for another flower that matches your home decor! It’s your wreath so make it yours.

How long does a grapevine wreath last?

Typically, you’re going to have trouble with your greenery fading long before your grapevine wreath is going to fall apart. When your wreath is outside in the elements, it’ll get worn out faster than if you keep it sheltered or indoors.

Can I use hot glue on my wreath?

Absolutely! I use hot glue on all of my wreaths. I love it because it is pliable for a few seconds, but dries quickly so I’m not holding the glue forever. I use a glue skillet, an electric skillet, just like the one you use in the kitchen, where I melt my hot glue sticks. Dipping my stems in the glue and putting them on my wreath is so easy.

Can I put lights on my wreath?

You definitely can. Add a string of fairy lights by weaving it through your greenery and flowers, attaching the wreath base with wire, and securing the power box to the back of the wreath. This adds a whimsical touch to your wreath, making it even more unique!

  • Cut and prep the White Black Chenille Curly Stems add some dimension to them by curling with your fingers to really give them life.
  • Stem back and look at your your centerpiece. Are thier bald or blank spaces? Fluff you black garland to fill and use the wires in your products from Keleas.com to really get the pieces where you want them.
  • Grab one of your Glitter Curly Velvet Ball Picks and trim the stem down to a couple of inches. Fluff out your pick, and then place it to the left of your bow, tucking it behind the bow to have it peek out from behind it.
