Red and White Floral Wall Basket

June 9, 2022 | Door Hangers, Floral Designs Tutorials, Year-Round Designs

Do you love the look of a pretty floral wall basket? They add a touch of color and rustic charm. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make your own red and white wall basket using just a few simple materials. Let’s get started!

Floral Wall Basket Arrangement

Have you ever used a wire moss basket to create a design? Let’s try it! These wire frame baskets are a great way to create a beautiful door hanger that isn’t your typical wreath. We are going to fill our basket with bright and cheery red florals and lantern leaves that are perfect to use all summer long.

Boho chic is so popular right now so let’s add some boho touches and play with some dramatic cream pampas grass. It adds just the right amount of drama and texture to bring this design to the next level. The best part is that we can make it in under 30 minutes. Let’s get started!

Today’s project is such a fun way to try something new and use our moss baskets! There is so much drama and dimension with the florals and greenery we’ve picked to use in our design. Red is the dominant color and you’ll see it with red lantern leaves that add height to the background.

There are big and beautiful red berries also throughout the piece and a large red back sia stem front and center! What perfect colors and floral choices for summer.

Let’s add some white in there to compliment all of the strong red flowers. My favorite new piece to work with is the large cream pampas grass stems. They are full of whimsy and texture and add so much drama. Add a few stems of the pampas grass throughout giving it those boho touches that are so popular right now.

The beautiful greenery filling in the basket and cascading over the front makes this design feel so organic and natural. Finish it off with a moss curly pick to make it fun and whimsical. It’s going to be perfect for this upcoming Summer season!

Directions

  • Grab some floral foam and cut a section that will fit inside the basket and hold the florals. Dip the back in hot glue and secure onto the back side. Secure into the back metal frame with floral pins.
  • Take your green button leaves bush and cut into separate stems. Tear apart your red lantern leaves spray and start by adding taller stems along the back into the foam.
  • Tear apart your cream snowball Allium bush and push into the foam in front of the red lantern leaves.
  • Take your red back sia stem and add into the front center of the foam. Use hot glue to secure into the foam.
  • Fill in the basket with green button bush greenery into the foam. Layer with the other florals and greenery.
  • Add your large red berry stems into the front of the foam, having it spill over the front. Cable tie the wire stem into the basket base to keep it in place if you need. Use Spanish moss to hot glue and cover the cable tie.
  • Grab one more red lantern leaves spray and separate into smaller stems. Fill in the foreground of your basket with red lantern leaves, securing with hot glue into the foam.
  • Take a couple of large cream pampas grass stems and cut into individual stems. Dip the ends in hot glue and add a couple of stems in the background. Add a couple of more pampas grass stems in the front as well, having them flare down slightly.
  • “Shake hands” with a moss curly pick to add some depth. Insert the curly pick into the center and adjust the stems how you’d like.

The red and white flowers in this cute wall basket are perfect and patriotic for this Summer. You can easily add a couple of extra touches during the Fourth of July or Memorial Day to signify a more specific holiday. Adding a simple cute rocket or simple patriotic pick into your design for the Holidays is a great way to give new life to the design.

Be creative and inspired to make your design work for your customers or your family, so you can enjoy it all Summer long!
