Directions
- Begin with your funky bow. Grab your Red Check Ribbon and create your first tail measuring about 8”. Be sure to cut at an angle.
Slide your ribbon through, creating your first loop. About 6”. Pinch and twist it back through and create your next 3 loops repeating this pattern as you alternate in the center of your EZ Bow Maker. 2 Loops on each side, 4 loops in total in this layer. - Have your next tail popping out from the opposite direction, creating the funkiness of the funky bow. Bring over your blue check ribbon. Create your first tail, with the opposite angle cut and another 8” tail.
Make your loops 5’ long in this layer. - Create only 2 loops total for this layer to create a 2-1 Recipe for this funky bow. Create your next tail popping out the top opposite direction.
Grab your cable ties and secure them in the center as you remove it from the bow maker. Do not pull too tight. Fluff and build your shape with your loops. Insert a second cable tie to the back, pull tight, and trim excess pieces from the first tie. Cover your mechanics with your red check ribbon by folding it into thirds. Tie in the back and cut the excess. - Bring over your white lantern to create a visual for your finished product. Determine where you think you want your swag to be placed, to begin with. This helps you as you complete your design. Set lantern aside. Bring over your blue filler flower. Shred into sections by tearing into 2 pieces of each. Leave wires long for now. Shake out your greenery to space it out to really get your money’s worth. Create the basic swag by placing your stems together in the center so the greenery filler flowers are on opposite ends.
- Play with the placement of swag on your lantern. Not every lantern is the same unless you were able to get one from Keleas.com. So do what works best for you. Trim your stems a bit if necessary with write cutters. Overlap your filler flowers to build the base of your swag.
Add your red sunflower by shaping them up, paying attention to the stem, angles, and leaves. Keep them petite. - Next, add your blueberries. Trim from the main stem and position them in your swag creating a mirror on both sides of the center. Grab a cable tie to secure it in the center. Trim excess Use hot glue on the center to secure the flowers together for safety. Grab a leave from your supplies and hot glue over your center mechanics to hide.
- Manipulate your florals and berries to accentuate the bow you will add.
Run a pipe cleaner around the back of your swag and your bow. Connect to the pie cleaner and pull tight. Insert your bow right in the center of your swag. Add dimension by adding a bit of your filler flower. Insert right under your bow with hot glue. - Insert here and there to add dimension and depth to your design.
Bring over your lantern. Use your pipe cleaner to attach where you like best. Bend and manipulate where necessary.
What is Your Favorite Type of Bow to Use for Swags?
Swags are a fun floral arrangement that just seems to “Hit differently.” I have heard my teen daughter say that, and I hope I am using it right. Basically, what I am saying is, there is just something about them that I love so much! Maybe it is because of the use of the FUNKY BOWS. These bows are just playful and out of the norm, so they add a little fun touch to this non-traditional floral arrangement. What do you think about the Funky Bow?

Can My Lanterns Have Glass?
This is not a deal breaker if you find a lantern with glass. I personally like to use lanterns without glass for the items I sell in my shop because they don’t have glass to accidentally break. But if you find a lantern you like, and it has glass, then buy it, craft with it, and design your home in the most beautiful way with it!

- Cut and prep the White Black Chenille Curly Stems add some dimension to them by curling with your fingers to really give them life.
- Stem back and look at your your centerpiece. Are thier bald or blank spaces? Fluff you black garland to fill and use the wires in your products from Keleas.com to really get the pieces where you want them.
- Grab one of your Glitter Curly Velvet Ball Picks and trim the stem down to a couple of inches. Fluff out your pick, and then place it to the left of your bow, tucking it behind the bow to have it peek out from behind it.
