Winter Cedar Swag
When creating a simple winter swag like this, I always try to use not expensive pine wreath bases so my cost is not too outrageous from the start. Christmas presents cost a lot of money y’all. I have to be frugal where I can! Just simply adding some beautiful embellishments, different greenery options, and lots of different textures, you wouldn’t be able to tell that I was watching the price of creating this Christmas decor. I can’t get enough of the motion created by the bouncy and vibrant red and green glittery balls. And the jingle bell I am in love.
Can you believe this amazing Winter Swag was made with very few supplies? With just 2 small pine wreath bases, some deconstructed garlands, and beautiful picks and sprays, I was able to create this one-of-a-kind piece in very little time. It is the perfect addition for your home decor or to sell in your cute little craft store! I will teach you step-by-step in this tutorial how to create this “S-Curve” look, share some important tips and tricks, and make you feel a little less crazy just by crafting with me! Are you ready to get started? I know I am.

Ingredients
2 14” pine wreaths
Flocked Bushy Pine Garland
3 Red and Green Glittery Ball Sprays
4” Burlap Christmas Themed Bow
Jingle Bell Flocked Spray
Frosted Evergreen and Pine Cone Garland
Directions
- Shake hands with your 2 pine wreath bases so they are nice and fluffed out.
- Connect the 2 Pine Wreath bases together by twisting several tines together. Use a cable tie as well to make it extra secure.
- The design of this will be an S-Curve, so let’s build on that vision.
- From your Flocked Bushy Pine Garland that you have cut into sections with your wire cutters, begin to add into your wreath base. Twisting the pieces into the pine tines to secure. Make sure to “Shake hands” with your pine picks so they are nice and full before adding to your swag.
- Next, let’s add our Red and Green Glittery Ball Sprays. Cut into sections with your wire cutters. Alternating in placement, leaving space, as you add to your S-Curve look. Use hot glue on those ends as you add.
- Grab your Flocked Jingle Bell Spray and shake hands with it so you can cut it into sections to work with it. Insert into your swag, placing between your red and green ball sprays in those open spaces.
- Let’s add our 4” burlap Christmas-themed bow ( 4 loops in all using a 2-2 recipe). Insert at an angle at the transition point of your S-Curve on your swag
- Add some love to your bow tails by curling them up a bit. Hot glue in place to keep the curl.
- Add more flocked jingle bell embellishments to make your swag festive and fabulous. Maintaining the same angles, they should be popping out in all directions on your wreath.
- Add more flocked pine sprays in any gaps where needed.
- Remove some sections from your Frosted Evergreen and Pine Cone Garland. Insert ends in hot glue and add throughout your Winter Cedar Swag, adding new textures and pops of green. I love the pinecones so much!
- Step back and determine any gaps that need to be filled. Fluff your bow, play with the placement of picks and sprays. Determine where to hang this beautiful Winter Cedar Swag in your home and prepare for all of the compliments!

What Can You Do With Leftover Garland Pieces?
I love deconstructing beautiful garlands. They are perfect to help create amazing wreaths, swags, centerpieces, and just about any other home decor. When I tell you to save all the pieces, I mean it. Save all the pieces. I use the wire from the sections I remove all the time in other projects. That way I don’t always spend that money on new cable ties. I use garland wire to create options to hang my wreaths and swags because that wire is nice and sturdy. If it came from a garland, I will use it. You really should as well. Use that garland all up, friends!

- Cut Black Garland Base into small sections and set your base, spreading for maximum coverage.
- Prep your picks by grabbing your Purple Green Orange Felt Ball Twig Sprays. Sseparating them into smaller picks. You can also twist the black chenille around your finger to create a fun effect.
- Trim your Glitter Eye Ball Picks and add to the stryofoam. Be sure to space them for the best visual display.
- Cut and prep the White Black Chenille Curly Stems add some dimension to them by curling with your fingers to really give them life.
- Stem back and look at your your centerpiece. Are thier bald or blank spaces? Fluff you black garland to fill and use the wires in your products from Keleas.com to really get the pieces where you want them.
- Grab one of your Glitter Curly Velvet Ball Picks and trim the stem down to a couple of inches. Fluff out your pick, and then place it to the left of your bow, tucking it behind the bow to have it peek out from behind it.
